Useful Information

Because I am helpful in nature, I wanted to pass on a little tip for all you married ladies out there. Make this cake for your man. It's the 2nd best thing you can do for him today.

My stepmom made a version of this cake (only we called it Texas Sheet Cake) and I was so excited to see Pioneer Woman version. She always gives the best step by step directions and it will melt in your mouth and make you beg for milk. Give it a try.

PS I really want Santa to get me a copy of her cookbook. So Santa, if your listening. . . purdy please.

Just to be clear, what's the first best thing?

Have you seen the cookbook? I'll bring my copy on Tuesday so you can see it!

This cake has been tempting me from PW's cookbook. I almost made it on Friday and then went for something with blueberries. This week, though. I'm making it for sure.

That is hilarious...the 2nd best thing. I'm still laughing.

That's so funny that I didn't even notice your "2nd best" comment until your hubby's comment. Was that planned too?

I had the best time catching up with you today. It's never long enough to chat, but was just what I was hoping for. I even made it to JoAnn's to get my buttons...

You're one special friend!

Hi Becca, It's in the Court Street cookbooks too.

I've never made the faux buttermilk with vinegar, but have used a splash of lemon juice to the regular milk and it also works well. My mom used to let us have a bite of this for breakfast sometimes (sshh don't tell!)
