Sunday Livingroom Open House

This is the room that gets lived in. Where Tobin makes elaborate train tracks, where Saturday morning cartoons get watched, fires are made with a remote control, babies are safely "caged in". The carpet is so gross. They haven't been cleaned since Jon found his calling to serve and protect.

This room boasts of three sets of french doors.

I found this clock when I was newly married. It was a steep $45. I remember feeling so guilty to spend that much on a clock but what is a girl supposed to do when she falls in love with an object that makes her long she was living in New York City? Buy it.
The twins are 15 months and I still use a changing table. I used on for a long time with Tobin too. I just would rather not be bending down too much if I can help it. And it helps keep my wiggle worms still.

Love, love old books. When I was first making a home for Matt and I, it was my cheep decorating secret to find lovely books to use as accents around the big empty space I was trying to fill. Now ten years later, how did we manage to "collect" so much stuff?

And lastly this picture of my big brother and me. Taken in a photo booth, I adore it.

Our carpets are gross too. Sometimes I selfishly miss his old job!

Beautiful living room, love the fireplace and mantle. Coffee at your crib is looking better and better!

Oh, and I know why you were up so late last night.....Jon told me Matt was working with him last night. Isn't nice to have the house all to yourself while your husband works long, hard extra hours to provide extra money for the fam.

Love your house...very beautiful. We had the messy carpets too. We made the decision last year to have them ripped out and replaced with hardwood floors. One of the best decions we ever made.

I love hanging out in your living room! I always feel so comfortable there, especially when Matt brings me out a gigantic mug filled with his perfectly steamed vanilla latte masterpiece! Your living room will always be welcoming because I come for the company, not the french door...those are just fringe benefits!! : )

Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us. I love your living room. It's so inviting. Sometimes you find those must have items. (my weakness is fancy mirrors)...
And my favorite part is the picture of you and your brother in the frame. Old pics are the best...and you two look so cute!

I love the many memories we have made sitting around in your cozy living room. Birthday parties, baby showers, Survivor/Friends/Apprentice viewing sessions, slumber parties when our power went out in the snowy weather, but most of all, when I am old and gray, I will cherish the talks we have had about life, sitting on your couch, while the kids are napping.

We each have had times, where we sat and looked at each other there, and said, "Guess what, I am pregnant!"

(do I dare admit publicly that there may be some tears right now)

I'm glad you bought yourself that clock - sometimes a girl just has to pamper herself! If it meant that much to you then you should have it to decorate your "now" house with, and your future house with too!

I enjoy your blogs so much and love the series of your house, you have invited us all in to see! I have to say, it's SO CLEAN!!! I wish my house looked that good!

I really love the "cage", it made me laugh. Do the twins play well together in there? I'm glad Tobin made his way into a picture too, even if it meant standing on the coffee table...he's such a character!!

Makayla has that same cage!! I call it a cage, too. Josh doesn't like me calling it that! (Makayla doesn't enjoy being confined to a space, but I've found that if I keep special toys in there that she can only play with while "caged", she's more likely to go without a fight and more likely to be able to stay there longer before complaining!)

I, too, still use Makayla's changing table. As long as I still find it convenient, I'll be using it.

How much do you charge for organizing and decorating? ;) FYI- You may find some serious protesting if you don't have some sort of big gathering/open house (not just virtual!) before you move out!!

Apparently, Claire got the stand on the table memo from Tobin this morning- she has been all about climbing up on tables- neat. Love the house, am looking forward to seeing the next place you call home.

Hey girl! Thanks for visiting Lauren and Blake's Blog. Your home is adorable and your street looks like something out of a movie. They don't have places that quaint here in Texas...can we come visit? :) I look forward to reading more about your family and it is always great to find another survivor of infertility..and TWINS!

The comment you left on my blog was so funny I laughed until I nearly wet my pants! Thanks for the humor!!! It's a good reminder to add to the list of what I wan my children to never let me do when I get old! Never let me where white skirts...etc... :)

Okay, so I'm getting caught up on all of these bloggers...

First of all, Becca you are uniting the world!! I am dying that Sharon and Liz found eachother...through blogland. The world is becoming smaller every minute.

Secondly, I've told you this before, but you have some decorating SKILLS. Have you ever thought about doing it professionally? (no not now, you've got your hands way full, but maybe when the twins are in preschool?) I think you could make some cash.

Thirdly...hmm, well I don't have a thirdly, it just sounds like I need to say it.

Okay, peace out...keep the blogland alive. Jen Green
