The Details

It was just pure joy to throw a shower for my friend Holly. Her and her husband are adopting one year old twins from Ethiopia. I have been so inspired watching and waiting with them through this process. We are thrilled that Layla and Eli will be coming to their forever homes soon! My friend Heather and I had so much fun picking out every little detail about this day.
Heather made these incredible diaper cakes. And speaking of diapers we had a diaper drive at this shower with a grand prize of a massage to anyone who brought the most diapers to the shower. I think Holly left with something like 700 of the suckers!
Heather found these perfect shower favors for our tea party that we threw. African tea made by Twinings. How perfect are they?
I made these paper poofs and paired them with my milk glass and they turned out great!
Costco and I make great cakes. I order two and asked them not to add any of their decorations so I could add my own. I admit I need to seek treatment for my banner addiction! Also did a wooden decoupaged initial on each.

So the craft was so fun! I got some unfinished wood blocks from a craft store and had my kids paint them green. I decoupaged one side of them so the guests could get an idea of the finished product and then found alphabet letters and objects online that I punched into squares. I had the guest color them with color pencils and then sign each one. I'll decoupage each finished square on and it will be a great reminder of her shower!

Heather got amazing give-a-ways and did an awesome job of finding fun ways to have winners. Including an African word-search.

Just love this momma to be!

It is so impressive, but what makes it even more wonderful is your generous and loving heart that reaches out to so many, and blesses the socks off of us :-)
