This is me in eighth or ninth grade. I know because I have braces and my bangs are sprayed to the side. My next phase I would have straight bangs trying to imitate Kelly from 90210. A few things take note of: The phone. It has a rotary dial, no caller ID, it was just a crap shoot when the phone was ringing. And notice the phone cord. We got an extra long one so I could stretch it as far as possible, behind the fridge, out to the garage.
And just look at the clothes! Jeans that went up to my neck and a vest. A VEST. I also have that teenage look of perpetual annoyance on my face. And then at last my little sister. Six years younger, gazing upon me just praying she can be as cool as me. I know she still thinks that to this day.

Does Bethy read your blog? Ha Ha
Look how skinny!
That is awesome!! I was telling Jeff just yesterday how I had that vest once and I was sure it was popular for at least a couple months even though I wore it for longer.
To funny. I wonder if we all have pictures of us on the phone. I have one too. But I think I'm a bit younger.
Vests were so cool!!!
Hysterical - we were just trying to explain to my neices about what a "party line" was... we had one of those when my sister was a teenager. It would have a special ring if it was for you - but if it was for another family... it would ring different. HOW in the WORLD did someone share a party line with a teenager?!
Because of my mom's home business, we had three phone lines at my house and I was allowed to give out one of the numbers as my "personal" number. Seriously. I thought I was so cool.
Have you heard that high waisted jeans are back in style? I can't even wrap my head around it. It's 1990 trying to traumatize me all over again.
