The I-don't-need-the-stress-of-a-birthday-party Post
I had a vision for the twins' second birthday party before they were born. When I can't sleep at night, I plan parties. It's cheaper then sleeping drugs but just as addictive. If I were to have two boys I decided to do a train themed birthday. The invitations would have steam coming out of the smoke stack saying, "Two, Two". For two girls I was going to have a ballerina "two two" (tutu) party. Boy girl twins was a harder theme to come up with. I decided on Noah's Arc, two by two. But on account that I have no home and we were leaving on a vacation the next morning I decided that a big party with a theme was mommy suicide. Instead we had a lovely day at Enchanted Forest. This hilly silly park was just perfect for giving the twins a fun celebration in honor of them and us surviving for two years.
We all headed to Red Robin for dinner and complimentary ice cream sundaes.
I'm so proud of you for giving yourself the freedom to not stress over a themed party for the twins. You'll get your chance later, and the twins will not miss out on anything. Looks like everyone had a great day.
"Oh look, it's Phoebe and Jabe!" says Sawyer as she looks over my shoulder at the computer. She had so much fun with the two year old twins! They are too precious!
You know what I do when I can't sleep? I make additions to our house. I have several plans in my head with various options. Now, if I could just find an architect to help me make this a reality. And $100,000....
I think it's great that you made a stress free birthday celebration!
I can't wait for the vacation photos...Are you unpacked yet? I got half way today!
We're going to have you three over for a reunion here soon complete with our signature drink, campfire, hand and foot game, and maybe a big wave reenactment in the hot tub?! Hee hee!
I've often been asked why my blog is named, "Glory Laine". My middle name is Laine and it suggests to me quant path, and paths remind me of a journey and I blog to record my personal journey. Then I wanted something spiritual to show that I am on this journey with God's help. I debated between mercy and glory. Mercy lane sounded like a nursing home where people go to die, so Glory Laine it is.
